Install

Download AWSGUI for macOS (Apple Silicon), open the download and drag AWSGUI to Applications. Windows and Linux versions are coming.

AWSGUI updates itself: when a new version is out, it offers to install it the next time it starts.

Add your AWS accounts

Add an account once and every tool can use it. AWSGUI accepts:

  • A profile from your AWS credentials file (~/.aws/credentials by default). AWSGUI reads it again each time it connects.
  • AWS SSO (IAM Identity Center): sign in with the AWS CLI (aws sso login), then pick the account and role. If the sign-in expires, AWSGUI asks you to run aws sso login again.
  • Temporary credentials copied from the AWS access portal, pasted as they are.
  • Access keys, typed or pasted.

Credentials are stored encrypted on your computer and used only to call AWS directly. They are never sent to us. AWSGUI only does what your IAM permissions allow; read-only access is enough for most tools.

Accounts and tabs

Each account opens in its own tab, in every tool, so you can compare accounts side by side. The Free plan includes one active AWS account and three tabs per tool; a license removes both limits.

Buy and activate a license

Buy Standard or Pro. Your license key arrives by email within minutes. In AWSGUI, open License, enter the email address you bought with and the key, and choose Activate.

Standard covers one device and Pro covers two. Each computer you activate counts as a device.

Move to a new computer

Sign in to Manage license with your email and remove the old computer. Its slot is free at once: activate the new computer with your email and key. The removed computer goes back to the Free plan the next time it checks in.

Lost your key?

Search your email for the license email from AWSGUI, or for the key's last five characters, shown in Manage license. You can also choose Email me this key there: we send the same key to the email you bought with (once an hour).

Updates and renewals

A license includes a year of updates. When the year ends, the version you have keeps working with your license forever. Versions released after that run on the Free plan, and AWSGUI tells you before you install one.

Renew from AWSGUI or from Manage license. A renewal costs half the price you paid, and the year is added to your current end date, so renewing early loses nothing. We email you a reminder a month before your updates end.

Working offline

An activated license keeps working without a connection. AWSGUI checks your license about once a day when it can; if our server can't be reached, nothing changes.

Usage statistics

Once a day AWSGUI sends a usage count (app version, operating system, plan and a random install id) to help us decide what to support. It never includes AWS data. Turn it off in the License window. See the privacy policy.

Get help

Write to support@awsgui.com with your AWSGUI version and what happened. For a license question, write from the email you bought with.
