Privacy policy
Last updated October 15, 2026
Kloudway, LLC ("we", "us") makes AWSGUI, a desktop application, and runs awsgui.com. This policy explains what personal data we handle, why, and the choices you have. It covers the app, the website and our License Manager.
The short version
- AWSGUI runs on your computer and talks to AWS directly. Your AWS credentials and AWS data never pass through our servers.
- We keep what we need to sell you a license and make it work: your email, your license, your devices and your orders.
- The app sends an anonymous daily usage count, which you can turn off.
- We don't sell or share your data for advertising, and we don't send marketing email.
Buying a license
Payments are handled by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record for your purchase: it collects your name, email, billing address and payment details, calculates tax, and sends your receipt. Stripe processes that data under its own privacy policy. Stripe shares with us your email address, what you bought, the amount, any discount code and the tax charged, so we can deliver and support your license. We never see your full card details.
Your license
For each license we keep:
- the email address it belongs to (and a second sign-in address, if you add one);
- the plan, its status, when it was bought, and when its updates end;
- your license key, stored encrypted, so we can email it to you again if you lose it, together with its last five characters to identify it;
- your orders and refunds;
- a log of changes to the license (for example a device removed or a key re-sent), so we can help you and prevent misuse.
Activating and checking your license
When you activate AWSGUI, and about once a day while it runs, the app sends our license server:
- the email and license key you entered (at activation only);
- a fingerprint of your computer: a one-way hash of the identifier your operating system gives it. The identifier itself never leaves your computer;
- a random install id created by the app, your computer's name, your operating system and the app version.
We keep these with your license so you can see and manage your devices, and to enforce the number of devices your plan includes. Your IP address is used to protect the service from abuse (rate limiting) and is not stored with your license.
Usage statistics
Once a day the app sends a usage count: its install id, version, operating system and plan, plus the country our network sees the request from. It contains no email, license key, AWS data or hardware identifier. We use it to know how many people use AWSGUI and which versions and platforms to support, and keep it for about three months. You can turn it off in the app's License window. The install id is the same one stored with an activated license, so for licensed users these counts are pseudonymous rather than anonymous.
Updates
The app checks for a new version when it starts. Like any web request this reveals your IP address and app version to our download server, which may keep standard request logs for a short time.
Emails
We only send emails you need: your license key, sign-in links for the License Manager, renewal confirmations, a reminder before your updates end, and replies to your support requests.
This website
awsgui.com uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies or tracking you across sites. The License Manager sets one cookie when you sign in, to keep you signed in for up to 12 hours; it holds a random session id and nothing else.
Who processes data for us
- Stripe: payments, tax, receipts and payment support.
- Cloudflare: hosting of our servers and website, our database, email delivery and web analytics.
How long we keep data
- License, device and order records: while your license exists, and afterwards as long as needed for tax, accounting and legal claims.
- Sign-in links: 15 minutes. Signed-in sessions: 12 hours.
- Usage statistics: about three months.
Your choices and rights
You can see your licenses and devices, remove devices and manage your sign-in email in the License Manager. You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data by writing to support@awsgui.com. Deleting your data ends the licenses tied to it. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your data protection authority.
Children
AWSGUI is a tool for professionals and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell license holders by email about significant changes.
